From the Sebring Police Department:

Officers and Detectives of the Sebring Police Department are currently investigating a homicide that occurred over the weekend at an apartment complex located at 2180 Lakeview Drive in Sebring.

Officers were contacted on Saturday, November 18, 2023, just before 11:00 AM to conduct a welfare check on a resident of apartment 3. While completing the check, officers found one of the residents, twenty-seven-year-old Jessica Yazmin Phillips of Sebring, deceased inside the apartment. Investigation into the incident has revealed that she was likely killed as the result of a domestic violence-related incident.

During the investigation, Jessica’s boyfriend, twenty-five-year-old Jashaune Moore also of Sebring, was developed as a person of interest in the case. Mr. Moore was subsequently located in Sunrise, Florida during a police-standoff. The standoff ended when Mr. Moore was found deceased as the result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigation into this incident is considered active and pending. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sebring Police Department at (863) 471-5108.
